While we're most used to seeing "Quick View" tools on category and home pages, they are very useful on product pages and shopping cart summaries as well.
A typical page with cross-sells has a problem. If a cross-sell is enticing, clicking on it hijacks the customer from one product page to another. This could get your customer "lost" in your site, especially if an "add to cart" from the cross-sell product page takes the customer to the shopping cart page, with a "Continue Shopping" link that directs back to the home page.
Forever 21 has implemented Quick View on product pages:
PacSun uses Quick Look in the cart summary, which includes user-friendly editing tools.
Think about applying quick look tools not just to category pages, but also for cross-sells/upsells and cart summaries.
